She’s fit, fabulous and strong: Rosie the Riveter, a World War II icon, gets a swimsuitsforall makeover. We’ve all seen the image, Rosie flexing her muscles and rolling up her sleeves under the banner “We Can Do It!” Rose was a call to action, encouraging American women to support the war effort. Thousands of women heeded the call to work in factories that kept America running during the war. Rose is a symbol of the resiliency of the American spirit—strong and confident. And that’s why we love her so!
Rose represents all the fierce femininity that we embody at swimsuitsforall— which is why she was the perfect icon to kick off the 2013 swim season. Of course we had to put our touch on things, so we gave the iconic image a sunny little makeover. Illustrator David Groff helped us bring our re-imagined Rosie to life, outfitting her in one of our favorite halter designs in our hands-down favorite color (aqua blue!) Rose encouraged women to be fearless and strong, and now we’re following in her footsteps! We think some of life’s best moments happen in swimsuits: Imagine the fun times you’ve had with family and friends on the beach. We want all women to get out and have a blast every summer whether it’s on a beach, at a pool, doing water exercise or just taking in the sun. In other words, we want women of all sizes to Swim Strong! And the best way to do that is in a swimsuitsforall suit: They’re durable, comfortable, and you’ll look great while having fun!
