About the Authors

I’m Suzanne Walker and what you may call a veteran in the swimwear business, with over 20 years experience in sales, merchandising and design. An education in the arts and a lifelong obsession with style propelled me into the fashion business; specifically swimwear. I am a mother of three, including twins! Those blessed angels have taken their toll on what was once an OK figure so I have an intimate understanding of the importance of a flattering fit! I love creating garments that can boost confidence allowing the wearer to fell sexy and secure at the same time. I also truly appreciate that swimwear is fun-wear and recognize how lucky I am to be part of a process that encourages women relax and share fun times with their friends and family

Diana is mom to three children, ages four to seventeen. When she’s not cleaning grape-juice stains out of the carpet or counseling victims of teenage angst, she enjoys writing and the occasional date with her husband. Diana resides in Middlebury, Vermont, where she has lived for most of her life. With such great schools, people, and recreation, she can’t imagine wanting to be anywhere else – especially since she can use the internet to keep up with people all over the world without leaving her backyard.

She tries to squeeze in time to entertain friends, and while she knows her way around the kitchen, she’s always happier when someone else cooks. She hopes to pen the next great American novel – as soon as she can catch up with the laundry. She’s thrilled to have found a website that not only gives a voice to average sized women, but is also a resource for finding pieces that are stylish and flattering. ——————————————————————————————————————–
Linda currently lives in Kansas City with her husband, two middle-school aged sons, and one clumsy but well-meaning Labrador. She works in the fields of both writing and accounting, having the good fortune of getting to do it all from home – which means getting to hit the pool at lunchtime!

She can’t remember a weekend that didn’t involve shuttling the kids to and from softball games. Linda is an avid collector of Young Adult novels, devouring them shamelessly in the wee hours of the night. Getting the chance to write for this site is the perfect opportunity for Linda, who thinks that the key to loving your body is finding what fits and flatters – and realizing that curves are a good thing!

Jean is a Philadelphia work-at-home mom who can not only cook a gourmet meal, but can recite most Disney movies word for word without even looking at the screen. She also happens to be rather fantastic at Monopoly, much to the dismay of her husband and four daughters. When she’s not playing Supermom, she can often be found holed up in her little office typing away at one project or another.

Aside from family and career, she is most proud of her impressive shoe collection and of the envy it invokes among her friends. She feels that life is too short for strict diets, toxic relationships, and unflattering outfits. After years of frustration with trying to find sexy swimsuits for her size 12 body in department stores, she’s over the moon about finding this site – and especially getting the chance share her opinions here.

Educator by day and writer by night, Marsha likes to experience each day to its fullest potential. She loves that her schedule allows her to travel and meet new people. A native of San Diego, the beaches and outdoor malls are like second homes for her. A recovering “tan-addict”, she now worships the sun from underneath layers of sunscreen and cute hats that she has way too much fun shopping for.

While she sometimes takes the hard line when it comes to homework deadlines for her students, she has a serious soft side and often volunteers at local homeless shelters. She loves swimming in the ocean or the community pool, doing hot yoga, and often says that smiling takes off ten years and twenty pounds.

Marsha is glad to have the opportunity to write for a site that understands that beautiful women come in all sizes and that every girl just needs to know where to shop for the right suit to fit her unique shape.

For me, when you look good, you feel good.
Part of that is really planning your clothing out ahead of time. This can be beneficial in several ways.
1-Wearing the right clothes help us “fit-in”. It doesn’t matter if you are a size 2 or 22, almost every woman has her own body image issues. Learning to create your own sense of style, having the appropriate clothing for the event/outing, really does take a lot of stress off of us. Like so many things, the not knowing, is a large piece of the stress puzzle. Plan your wardrobe ahead of time and tweak as the trends and seasons change.
2- By planning ahead, you can take advantage of the off-season sales and save a ton of money. Be careful, if you’re on a tight budget, to only buy those items that lean toward the classic and timeless…things that provide a very solid foundation to building a good wardrobe.
3- Foundation. It’s been said over and over, you need to wear the right size bra and an appropriate panty. The right size bra lifts the girls and gives added definition to your waist. The appropriate panty will vary from an all in one for under an evening dress with a defined shape to a pair of support panty hose that give that pair of trousers a smooth finished line. Based on what you’re wearing….you really need to have a “supporting” set of underwear.
4- Lastly, by having your wardrobe at the ready, you can relax and be confident in your options and have the time needed to just simply enjoy yourself.
