Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a productive workout routine are factors that many people strive for today; including celebrities and reality TV stars. A well-rounded and challenging fitness routine can give you more energy, increase your motivation and provide you with tangible goals that can help you to achieve higher levels of how to become your ideal self.
Here are three Bachelorette stars that have shared their methods for remaining fit and healthy:
1. Ashley Hebert: The most recent bachelorette has put herself on a low-carb diet. Limiting carbs can have the following positive effects on the mind and body: increased energy, elevated emotions and moods, and a more acute mental focus.
2. Ali Fedotowsky: The Massachusetts native who was previously linked to former minor league baseball player Roberto Martinez has been working on eliminating thigh and butt jiggle. How can you firm up these stubborn areas? It’s important to engage in exercises that target your quads, hamstrings and glutes. Stretching is a large part of ensuring that some of the following exercises provide you with the results that you’re seeking: dumbbell lunges & squats, bridges and lying abductions.

3. Trista Sutter: After bearing two children, one of the only successful members of a Bachelorette-bred relationship worked on both her diet and exercise routine to regain both her physical and mental. She modified her diet to a higher number of smaller meals so that they coincided with what she was trying to accomplish by exercising. She also introduced circuit training and treadmill sessions into her workouts.
What have you found to be the most problematic areas in your journey to improve yourself? Are there specific exercises and routines that you’ve found to be the most effective in terms of results?

In 2008, when former American Idol star Jennifer Hudson’s self-titled album debuted, she noticed something inauthentic about the cover… herself. While Hudson has since dropped quite a few pounds, 80 to be exact, with the help of Weight Watchers, she hadn’t started her weight loss journey when her first album was released.
Her thoughts on the record company’s aggressive airbrushing? “They Photoshopped me probably to the size I am now on that cover, when we all know I was nowhere near that…To me, it did not send out a good message. And it did not represent me well…Did I not just prove that talent is enough if I made it this far? Being who I am, the size that I am?”

Hudson, like many other celebs, wants to be represented and portrayed accurately. She strives to be a positive role model and wants her message to be true and authentic.
Other A-listers that have spoken out about airbrushing?
Kim Kardashian recently posed nude for Harper’s Bazaar and expressed in the Huffington Post that the message of her shoot is to “embrace your curves and who you are”. Celebrities like Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears have also voiced their desires to be portrayed naturally, as they really are.
How do you feel about celebrities and airbrushing? Does it send the wrong message to fans and society alike?
Are there instances or circumstances where airbrushing is an acceptable solution? And, does weight count as one of them?

Because of its low to non-impact quality, water aerobics is one of the most beneficial workouts that you can consider integrating into your exercise regimen.
Whether you’re a teen, young adult or a senior, your body will reap the benefits of both swimming and aquatic exercises as it places no stress on the joints and helps to improve your flexibility.
In what other aspects can water aerobics positively impact your body? Take a look into the variety of ways that your body will benefit from engaging in water aerobics:
1. Got Muscles? Water aerobics helps to increase your muscular endurance, which leads to muscle toning. If you’re looking to get toned quickly, then a water workout will more likely provide you with faster results than any land routine.
2. Get Heart Healthy! As with any cardiovascular routine, your heart rate will improve with a water aerobics workout. Research has shown that your heart works more effectively than if you participate in an activity like cycling or jogging.
3. Get Rid of Calories! Of course any type of exercising will help to burn calories, reduce your waistline, and leave you feeling a sense of accomplishment; however, water aerobics typically offers a faster way to burn calories than some typical land exercises.
4. Stay Cool and Refreshed! Although stating the obvious, a water workout helps your body to maintain a more optimal and constant body temperature. Additionally, it can help with mood elevation and overall motivation.

All in all, incorporating a 40- to 50-minute water aerobic workout into your weekly routine will teach your body how to react to resistance in different ways than when performing land exercises.
Have you tried water aerobics before? If so, what kind of results have you been able to achieve? If not, what is holding you back?

Whitney Thompson, 24-year-old model and winner of the 10th season of America’s Next Top Model, has decided to launch a dating site geared toward plus size women.

Thompson believes that her new site, “The Big and the Beautiful”, will provide plus size women with a more positive and productive dating venue and prevent them from having to constantly feel as though they need to prove themselves to others. As she recounts her own struggles, she found that she just didn’t boast the body type that many men she was being set up with were looking for…
“[When] I would [call myself] a ‘plus-sized model’ . . . guys would expect me to be a really big girl. But if I said, ‘I’m a model,’ [they were] disappointed that I’m bigger. Either way, I wasn’t what the guy was looking for.”
Whitney Thompson, 24-year-old model and winner of the 10th season of America’s Next Top Model, has decided to launch a dating site geared toward plus size women.
Members pay a monthly cost of $40 and can customize the relationship that they’re looking for; whether it is dating, long-term or a hook-up. There are measures and precautions in place throughout the screening process to make sure that the site isn’t attracting the wrong kind of men (i.e. those with fetishes or those with disrespectful intentions), which will continue to be refined as it grows.
But, the question remains: is a plus size dating site a good idea? Or are we further segmenting our population?
While it stands to reason that creating sites where commonalities are made easier is logical, are we actually isolating an entire group of people or positively impacting the direction of perception in our society?
Simply because the site was created and launched by a woman who terms herself “plus size”, does this make the endeavor more acceptable than if a “skinny” person had been behind it? Where do we draw the line?

Although there may be more exciting and less demanding workout options, do not discount the benefits of running. Whether you’re trying to increase your fitness or mix up your workout routine, running is an optimal way to de-stress and to socialize. From helping your heart to get healthier to assisting you in setting and achieving goals, here are several ways that running can boost your confidence and your overall outlook on life!

1. Running IS a team sport: While many people visualize running as an individual activity, it’s a great way to meet others with similar goals and desires. Joining a running group will not only help you to interact with new people, but it also provides a way for you to challenge yourself beyond your boundaries. Exercising with others will motivate you to push yourself to new levels and to step outside of your comfort zone.
2. Get fresh air: So often, we associate working out with the idea of being cooped up inside of a gym. While a fitness facility certainly offers outstanding benefits on its own, running provides an ideal opportunity for you to enjoy your workout in the outdoors. After working all day in an indoor office environment, you owe it to your body, mind and soul to unwind and recuperate by breathing in fresh air.

3. Improve your health: While this may seem obvious, there are internal health benefits to running. From fending off colds to increasing bone density and reducing your risk of having a heart attack, running can help you to get to know your body in a whole different way. It can also change your mentality; once you gain your confidence, you may be inspired to change your diet and your attitude as well. Remember, positivity breeds success and happiness!
Do you incorporate running as a part of your fitness routine? If not, what is holding you back?
